Dear Parents,

The Indian Prairie District 204 has compiled its' High Frequency Sight Word list from the researched sources, Dolch and Fry.  The district has determined that in order for the state standard to be met, students in second grade should focus and maintain mastery of 250 of these words.

The goal in Second Grade is for each student to focus and maintain mastery of the words included in the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade list by the end of the Second Grade year.

Attached to this blog are the kindergarten, first grade, and second grade lists. Students should identify these words during their reading, but may not necessarily spell them correctly.  Please continue to practice the words on these lists.
